Tullahoma

Tullahoma was a Nashville & Chattanooga work camp (formed as a company in 1850) before the town was actually incorporated in 1852 - the same year that its first depot was built.

Rich in history, Tullahoma has long been known as a city that is as unique as its name. Tullahoma is the only city in the world bearing this name. An Indian word, "Tullahoma" is believed by many to mean "a land of golden flowers," but probably is derived from the Choctaw words for "red" and "rock." Indians first used the area around Tullahoma as a hunting ground and it became a desirable tribal location because of the presence of abundant springs flowing with pure water.

The station at Tullahoma still is in use by CSX today.
