Reunion 2007 - Models

This year’s modeling “contest” was interesting for its diversity of scales and approaches to modeling our favorite railroad. First place (best in show) went again to our California contingent, Richard Bass for another fantastic rework of a common and inexpensive ready-made locomotive, the class P1-51 “Russian” Decapods. Rich went to great pains to add and subtract details on the factory engine, already lettered for the NC&StL and equipped with a capped stack, numbered 553. He said it was harder to do than last year’s winner, the fabulous J-1b 556 with correct Vandy tender. Since Rich travels by air, he keeps the number of entries small. He always stuns us with the realism obtained with what he does bring.

We hope you enjoy these photos of some of the models entered...
