Mrs. Mary Chambliss

The first woman to serve as a mobile and base agent for any southern U.S. railroad while employed by the "NC." She worked out of the depot at Jackson during her long railroad career.

Mrs. Chambliss still works at the Jackson NC&StL Depot and Museum today.

Watch for Ken Ingram's article regarding Mrs. Chambliss and the NC&St.L in an upcoming Classic Trains Magazine.
