“A Glance Back” with William Turner
On Friday the 23rd of January 1920, Mr. Fred Lewis, a brakeman
on the Tracy City and Palmer branch of the NC&StL Railroad,
was thrown from the train and instantly killed at a sidetrack in
Palmer. One car and the tender of the engine passed over him before
the attention of the engineer could be attracted.
