Tracy City, TN

Another feature of the Cumberland Mountain Tunnel is that until recently, there was a branch line to Tracy City, TN. Up on the plateau that made its assault on the mountain by swinging away from the mainline at steeper grade and crossed over the west face of the tunnel on a stone arch bridge. Though this line is gone now, the bridge and grade still remains as a walking trail up the escarpment, some 900 feet higher than Cowan.

Tracy City was established in 1915.
