Abandoned NC&STL Railway
Route Between Memphis, Jackson & Bruceton

Eads Station - Milepost 204.6


New State Route 385 (Paul Barrett Parkway) southbound exit looking West (west of Eads). The under construction SR 385 overlayed on the track removal where many tall trees among the old railroad bed.

Collierville-Arlington Road looking West. There was a short distance track siding beside the former main line where a tree nearest us was approximately located center of the tracks. A gravel mount and under construction SR 385 bridge are on the railroad removal.


Collierville-Arlington Road looking East. A former main line was on this brownish
grass straight from here. One road to the left is Washington Road and the other side is
Steward Road. The left from here is a small Eads downtown. Long time ago there were
stockpens, section houses and depot in this area. No old foundations found.

On October 11, 1941 NC&STL train crashed the school bus killed 8 students
and 9 injuries on this road per the Memphis Press-Scimitar newspaper.
