(C) Method of Operation:
      The Bruceton to Memphis segment of the Paducah & Memphis Division didn't receive any more advanced method of operation than timetabale/train order       operation until CTC installation was completed around September 1954.
      DTC = Direct Traffic Control/Manual Block (no CTC or block signals, this is "dark territory").
      CTC = Centralized Traffic Central (no block signals). See Page 42 and Page 43 of NC&STL's "What CTC Did for the Dixie Line" article from the
           February 7, 1955 issue of Railway Age Magazine.
      IHS = Interlocking Home Signals.
      ABS = Automatic Block Signals.
      The main line has no defect detectors and possibly used the jointed (bolted) rail all the way.
(D) NC&STL Rwy. April 29, 1951 Time Table No. 170, pg. 4 & 5. All speed are good for F, GP, J & K Class Engines except H & L-2 Class Engines.

          Aulon to Kentucky Street 10 mph signal indication south bound permission of dispatcher north bound on 101 102 103.
22. On first curve south of Somerville: P-50, F-45, M-45.
23. Between Interlocking Distant Signals at Jackson: P-50, F-35, M-35.
24. Approximate 10 to 15 mph maximum. When John Arnold was a little boy, he can remember to ride in the train went slow down for the bridges. Special thanks to him.
25. The name of Grovewood was given to the community and later changed to Yuma February 18, 1895.
26. Lexington is also known as Midland City.
